Nature

Nature shows us what God is like. You’ll find it in Psalm 19:1, TLB. “The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of His craftsmanship.”

Who controls nature? God’s power controls nature. You’ll find an interesting story of Jesus stilling a storm in Matthew 8. But look at Matthew 8:26, TLB. “But Jesus answered, ‘O you men of little faith! Why are you so frightened?’ Then He stood up and rebuked the wind and waves, and the storm subsided and all was calm. The disciples just sat there, awed! ‘Who is this,’ they asked themselves, ‘that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’” God allows Satan to be the prince of the power of the air, and weather, but God is in control in response to our
prayers and needs.

What does nature prove to us about God? Nature proves that God exists. You’ll find it in Romans 1:20, TLB. “Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of His existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse (when they stand before God at Judgment Day).”

How was nature affected by sin and will it be restored? Oh, yes! Look in Romans 8:19-20, TLB. “For all creation is waiting patiently and hopefully for that future day when God will resurrect His children. For on that day thorns and thistles, sin, death, and decay—the things that overcame the world against its will at God’s command—will all disappear, and the world around us will share in the glorious freedom from sin which God’s children enjoy. For we know that even the things of nature, like animals and plants, suffer in sickness and death as they await this great event.”
