Jesus Christ

Find out where Jesus lived before He came to this earth. The answer is found in the Bible, John 6:38, TLB. “For I have come here from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to have my own way.”

Heaven chose angels to announce Jesus’ coming to live on earth. The angel used two names to describe who He was and what He would do. What are the names and what would He do? You’ll find the answer in the Bible in Matthew 1:21,23, TLB. “And she will have a Son, and you shall name him Jesus (meaning ‘Savior’), for he will save His people from their sins.” ‘Listen! The virgin shall conceive a child! She shall give birth to a Son, and he shall be called “Emmanuel” (meaning “God is with us”).

Have you ever wondered how Jesus could have lived in heaven as God and yet be born on this earth as the Son of Man? The answer is in the Bible, Philippians 2:5-8, TLB. “Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God, but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. And he humbled himself even further, going so far as actually to die a criminal’s death on a cross.”

In the Bible, Jesus is called the “WORD”. Find out how long the “WORD” has existed. It’s in the Bible, John 1:1,14 NIV. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God…The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the Glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Wow! Jesus is as old as the Father because he existed in the beginning with the Father!

How many things did Jesus create? The answer is in the Bible in John 1:3, NIV. “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”

What did God the Father call Jesus? The answer is in the Bible, Matthew 3:17, NKJ. “And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved son, in whom I am well pleased."

What did Jesus say about His relationship with the Father? The answer is in the Bible, John 10:30, TLB “I and the Father are ONE.”

Did you know you can learn what God the Father is like by learning about Jesus and His life? You’ll find it in the Bible, John 14:9 TLB. “…Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!”

So what kind of things did Jesus do that help us know what God is like? Find the answer in the Bible in Matthew 4:23, TLB. “Jesus traveled all through Galilee teaching in the Jewish synagogues everywhere preaching about the good news about the kingdom of heaven. And He healed every kind of sickness and disease.”

Did Jesus say He was the only way to get to Father God? You’ll find the answer in the Bible in John 14:6, NIV. “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Did Jesus ever do wrong or sin when He lived on the earth? You’ll find the answer in the Bible in 1 Peter 3:18, TLB. “He (Jesus) died once for the sins of all us guilty sinners although He himself was innocent of any sin at any time, that He might bring us safely home to God.”

Does Jesus understand how hard it is to say “NO” when I am tempted to do wrong? Find out in the Bible, Hebrews 4:14, 15, TLB “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.”

How will you live if you say you love Jesus? The answer is in the Bible in John 14:23, NKJ. "If anyone loves Me (Jesus), he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

What did God give Jesus to this world for? You’ll find the answer in the Bible in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

What cost did Jesus have to pay for your sins to be able to live with him in heaven? You’ll find the answer in the Bible, 1 Peter 1:18,19, TLB. “God paid a ransom to save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver, as you very well know. But he paid for you with the precious life-blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.”

Wouldn’t you like to live like Jesus did? You can! You’ll find it in the Bible in Galatians 2:20, TLB. “I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

When you ask for God to make you act like Jesus, what kind of things will you be doing? You’ll find the answer in Philippians 2:3-5, TLB. “Then make me truly happy by loving each other and agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, working together with one heart and mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ.

Do you know how you can know Jesus as your Savior, the one who saves from sin? You’ll find the answer in the Bible in John 1:12 and 1 Peter 3:18, TLB. “But to all who received (Jesus), He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them.” “He died once for the sins of all us guilty sinners although He himself was innocent of any sin at any time, that He might bring us safely home to God.”

Jesus told people to repent. That means to turn from sin. You’ll find it in the Bible in Matthew 4:17, TLB. “From then on Jesus began to preach, ‘Turn from sin, and turn to God for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

By looking at Jesus, you can know what God’s love is like. You’ll find out what that is in the Bible, in 1 John 3:16, TLB. We know what real love is from Christ’s example in dying for us.”
